Unreleased Holographic game system

 

 

This was supposed to be a handheld system that took carts to compliment the Atari 2600. The cartridges didn't contain roms, just chips that interacted with the console to produce a set number of games. Only nine games were to be available for the machine with no possibility of new ones. The graphics were displayed over a holographic background for kind of a poor-man's Virtual Boy effect. Never released because of the stupid crash of 84. There's purportedly a few prototypes out there somewhere.
