Lord of the Rings: Warrior of Middle Earth

A TV game based on Peter Jackson's epic movies released a few years back. The controller here is a wireless motion controlled Sword (motion controllers being somewhat of a trend nowadays.) The console comes in the shape of a castle turret with the One Ring on top and runs off of 4 AA batteries (the sword uses two AAs itself.)

The sword seems to work best from around 8 feet away, in dim or low lighting. It's a bit small and lacks any significant feeling of weight, which was probably done to keep you from clubbing your little sister with it. The control however is surprisingly responsive.

The actual game follows the plot of the first movie as Aragon protects Frodo and gang, with various locations from the movies represented, including Weathertop, Rivendell, Moria, etc. Graphics are of the PS1 era - highly detailed polygon models, but nothing too elaborate.

This particular TV game is getting hard to find nowadays. Originally retailed for $49.95.
