APF IMAGINATION MACHINE

Apf was a maker of calculators and Pong consoles throughout the 70s and released this thing around 1979 or 80. Looks like an Arcadia 2001 clone but hardware is totally different. The game console was sold for $130 and played slightly above 2600 level games, however there was an add-on cradle which you set the console down in and it turned it into a computer with tape drive, printer, etc. The total Imagination machine computer retailed for $599. It was kind of a trendy thing in the early 80s before PCs to make a game console that doubled as a computer. This machine is on the pretty rare side nowadays, with loose units selling of upwards of $100 on Ebay.
